I've got it... it's perfect...
A weekend quest event centered on... get this...
Gwen! Remember those Tapestry Shreds we all got with no idea what to do with them? You'll need one of those to enter the event from the Kurzic side. What's that... you started in Factions and think it's unfair that Prophecies people can get in but you can't. Well suck it up, chucko... in the beginning of Factions there'll be a broken flute (Gwen's favorite toy), you'll use that to enter from the Luxon side.
The quest: Find her ghost in Jade Quarry, deliver her item to her so she'll remember you, she'll follow you (as she always did) across the map to the other side where you'll reuinite her with her (dead) mother. Across the way you stop at historical points and be forced to watch stupid (recycled) cut-scenes from the searing... yes, I'd like to see new ones but I'm trying to make it as easy on aNet as possible - they can just re-edit the searing scenes from Prophecies.
Two problems solved! Getting into JQ for mapping - done. Finding a use for that tapestry - done. Getting to see that annoying chick's ghost - priceless.

The reason beceause JC is empty, is beceause it's empty. Once at least 16 players add up in this spot. People will hear of it becoming populated and will check it out themselves. We just have to break a circle to accomplish that.

there has been suggestions to make both areas explorable, it seems this is the easiest solution as well. Anet would just have to toss in several mobs to make it interesting and maybe some new bosses (new greens hint hint) other wise i dont see any of us getting 100% for cantha.

only problem is she isnt dead. you can find "preserved red iris flower" in nightfall. Though more evidence of her being there could lead into game 4. Maybe she will be a Hero with what ever new proff is in store for us.
besides i liked gwen. anyone that heals me for a flower now and again is fine by me.

Is it true you don't get any faction rewards for fighting in Jade Quarry?
Someone told me that was the reason, but I've never gotten to play in it to see.

I my self spent 4 hrs recruting 15 other player to fight on both sides of the quary, by the end of the match i only got .4 of the .6% on that part of the map. then after layering my map with a 100% map completed by tc fish i got the 100% title. i hit every single spot in the game besides the .2. So it can be done just takes a day if you can learn how to layer your maps.
from what i remember you do get faction points in that pvp area.

It's not impossible:
Just kinda hard. I had to get the final 0.3% from the boardwalk when the games re-opened in that event last weekend.
I slove this, I think that there should be a single weekend where all rewards from only Jade Quarry are quadrupled. Just something simple. A weekend a few months after that would be quadrupled Fort Aspenwood.
Anti AFK code would probably be a good idea. Anyone caught botting would be banned, so it's all good.

I've gotta search for that!
I guess I figured she'd died since she was outside town when The Searing happened. Weren't too many non-dead things left outside Ascalon afterwards.
Okay then... take Gwen's non-dead self across Jade Quarry to reuinite her with her long-lost pet spider Charlotte (or whatever the spider NPC in War Camp's name was).
I'm just throwing stuff out there in the hopes that someone from aNet will happen by, go... "Hey, now there's an idea." and put someone to work on it.

You get just as much faction in the Quarry as you do in Fort Aspenwood. As for the OP complaining about not being any weekends for exploration, I remember being at a few of them so there are exploration weekends. It was actually pretty fun and I liked the even battlefield. I wish Anet would just somehow draw attention to it, maybe they could close down Fort Aspenwood for "repairs" and make the Jade Quarry incredibly accessible (maybe even to people who don't own factions, just to get them talking). Or we just need to get a few guilds to start going there a lot and telling other people that it's populating. Just throwing a couple ideas out.
